Rank on Google is not an accident. It is a continuous process of SEO improvement in any website.
“Good SEO is paying attention to all the details that most bloggers ignore” – Ryan BiddulphGo to DASHBOARD.
This is one of my favourite quotes which reflect my blogging journey. While started writing blogs, I have created contents on what the audience is looking for. But I was not optimizing those.
You need to approach writing with an SEO mind set if you want to advance in the industry. According to what I’ve discovered, SEO is a never-ending process of enhancing and implementing search ranking.
In today’s guide, I am going to share some methods on how to rank on Google.
Write SEO Friendly Content
Now the fight begins. Quality Content vs Quantity Content.
I always prefer to write high-quality content rather than high quantity content.
Creating 10 high-quality content is better than 100 low-quality content. Here comes the concept called “SEO Friendly Content”.
For access to the tutorial, register for a FREE account on SEMRUSH. (I prefer SEMrush because this tool helps to improve content comparing with top 10 competitors data)
Go to DASHBOARD.
On the left panel, click on SEO CONTENT TEMPLATE.
For example, I am going to research the keyword on SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT to explore SEO content opportunities.
Here are the top ten competitors for this keyword.
As I have told earlier, SEMrush analyses top 10 competitors and show SEO friendly content recommendation.
- Semantically Related Words: Here mentioned keywords will improve your content quality if you included in your article. SEMrush analysed top 10 competitors on SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT and found these keywords they are using in their content.
- Backlinks: Another important part to acquire backlinks from related websites. The best part is that you can have a list of those websites from where you should link your content. This list also explored by SEMrush based upon competitors backlink strategy.
- Readability: Good readability scores are preferred by Google for content. Because Google values providing a positive user experience. On this specific topic, the readability score must be at least 51.
- Text Length: On of the most important part is to maintain a good text length. Here SEMrush is recommending maintaining a text length of 1526 words based upon the top 10 competitor’s content analysis.
Create Original Content
Google does not like duplicate content. If you are creating contents from other websites, Google will hurt your search ranking. To avoid duplicate content, I always use Plagiarism Checker Tool.
Click here to navigate Grammica Plagiarism Checker.
Paste your content link and click on the GO button. That’s it.
For example, I am going to explore an article published on BBC News.
[Is coronavirus changing the world of cleaning?]
Here I have found duplicate contents.
As you can see, some of the sentences have been copied the same as published on BBC News. I have marked duplicate websites with red colour. Have a look onto this.
Include Appropriate Images
Visually related images increase user experience better. I always use the appropriate image/screenshot in my article. Since I post most of the tutorials, I prefer to post tutorial screenshots. Although, I use Stencil to edit those screenshots and thumbnails.
Build Quality Backlinks
I have used a couple of backlink checker tool to understand the competitor’s backlink strategy. These tools helped me by sharing the website list where my competitor’s build quality backlinks.
It became easy for me to identify high domain authority websites and build backlink to beat my competitors. Read my guide on Seo Backlinks: It’s Easy If You Do It Smart.
